Mystery Pudding

Sift-

1 cup flour

1 cup sugar

1 tsp. soda

1/2 tsp. salt

Beat 1 egg, add 1 tsp. vanilla,and mix with above ingredients. Add 2 cups cocktail fruit with juices. Mix and pour into pan. Sprinkle 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup nuts over otp. Bake at 325* for 1 hour.  May used stewed rhubarb in place of fruit.

Sauce –

2 cups water

1 cup brown sugar

vanilla

few grains of nutmeg

sat and 1 Tbsp. butter

Boil and thicken with 1 Tbsp. cornstarch and a bit of water.
