1/2 cup soft shortening
2 squares unsweetened chocolate
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1/2 cup crushed pineapple, well drained
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. soda
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Combine shortening and chocolate in saucepan. heat gently until melted and bended. Remove from heat and stir in sugar.
Add eggs, pineapple and vanilla. Stir to blend. Sift flour, baking powder, soda, and salt and add to mixture and blend evenly. Bake in a cake pan at 350* for 35 minutes. Cool in pan and ice with:
1 1/2 cup sifted icing sugar
3 Tbsp. soft butter
2 Tbsp. well drained crushed pineapple (save juice)
1 Tbsp. pineapple juice
Blend sugar and butter. Add Pineapple juice and pineapple.
