Peanut Butter Crisscrosses

1 cup shortening or 2 sticks (cubes) margarine

1 cup granulated Sugar

1 cup brown sugar

1 tsp. vanilla

2 beaten eggs

1 cup peanut butter

3 cups sifted flour

1 tsp. soda

dash of salt

Thoroughly cream shortening (margarine), sugar and vanilla. Add eggs, beat thoroughly. Stir in peanut butter. Sift dry ingredients, stir into creamed mixture.

Form into balls, place on ungreased cookie sheets. Press with the back of a fork to make crisscrosses. Dough may also be rolled and cut out if desired. Bake 10 minutes.
