Oatmeal Chippers

1/2 cup butter or margarine

1/2 cup shortening

1 cup sugar

1 cup brown sugar – packed

2 eggs

1 tsp. vanilla

2 cups flour

1 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. cinnamon

2 cups quick-cooking rolled oats

1 cup chocolate pieces

Cream together butter and shortening. Add sugars, gradually beating until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Blend in dry ingredients, mix thoroughly. Stir in oats and chocolate.

Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2″ apart onto greased baking sheets. Bake in moderate oven (375*) 9-12 minutes.
