1 cup chopped dates
1 cup boiling water
1 tsp. boiling water
1/4 tsp. salt
mix and cool
1 cup sugar
1 cup shortening
2 Tbsp. sweet cocoa
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 2/3 cups flour
Chocolate chips
nuts
Cream together sugar, shortening, cocoa; beat in eggs and vanilla. Mix in flour and other ingredients.
Fill paper cup half full – add chocolate chips and nuts. Cover with more batter. Add more chips and nuts. Sprinkle with sugar.
Bake at 350* for 30 minutes.
