Cherry Bars

1/2 cup butter

1 cup flour

1/4 tsp. salt

1/4 cup icing sugar

Sift dry ingredients, add butter and bake in ungreased 9″ square pan at 350* for 10 minutes.

1/2 tsp. baking powder

2 eggs

3/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. vanilla

1 Tbsp. melted butter

1/2 cup coconut

1/2 cup nuts

1/4 cup flour

1/2 cup glazed chopped cherries

Beat eggs, brown sugar, baking powder, flour, and salt. Beat until well blended. Stir in butter and remaining ingredients. Spread evenly over baked base. Return to oven and bake 25 minutes longer. Cool in pan. If desired, spread with a thin glaze. Cut into squares.
