2 cups sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 cup shortening
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 cup mashed bananas
1/2 tsp. lemon extract
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1. heat oven to 325*
2. sift dry ingredients
3. Cream shortening and sugar well
4. add eggs. Beat until smooth.
5. Add flour together with mashed bananas
6. Blend in the nuts and flavoring
7. bake in a greased 9x13x2″ pan for 30 minutes
Ice while hot with:
1 cup icing sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 – 3 Tbsp. milk
Add just enough milk to make an icing of spreading consistency.
