3 cups sugar
3/4 cups syrup
3/4 cups water
2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
1 3 oz. pkg. strawberry jello
1/2 cup flaked coconut
1 cup chopped pecans
Combine sugar, syrup, and water. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and cook to hard ball stage (252*) stirring constantly. Combine beaten eggs whites and gelatin, beat until mixture forms peaks. Other favored gelatin may be used.
Pour hot syrup in thin stream into egg whites, beating until candy looses gloss and holds shape. Fold in coconut and nuts. Pour into greased pans. Top with rows of chopped pecans and coconut. Make 5 doz. pieces. Sells for 75c per lb.
