Old Fashioned Penuche’ Candy

2 1/2 cups brown sugar

dash of salt

1 Tbsp. light syrup

1 Tbsp. Butter

3/4 cup canned milk

1 tsp. vanilla

1/2 cup nuts

Combine sugar, salt, syrup,. butter and milk. Cook stirring til soft ball. Cool to lukewarm, add vanilla and nuts, spread out into greased pan. Cut when cool.
