English Toffee

1 cup sugar

1 cup butter

5 Tbsp. water

Boil carefully (to avoid burning) to 290* stirring constantly, or to hard ball stage. Pour into oiled pan. After boiled to hard ball stage, cut 1/2 lb. sweet chocolate (or substitute 6 oz. of chocolate chips). Add on top of toffee mixture while it is still hot. Spread when melted and sprinkle with chopped nuts.
