Date Candy Bar

3 cups sugar

1 cup milk

1 Tbsp. white syrup

1 pkg. dates

1 cup pecans

Mix sugar, milk and syrup. Bring to boiling point. Add dates stirring constantly and cook to hard ball stage. Remove from heat and beat thoroughly. Add nuts while beating. Pour onto a wet cloth and  roll to 1 -2 inch thickness, cover with edges of wet cloth. When cool, remove the cloth and slice into bars.
