Raisin Cake

Cook for 20 minutes 1 1/2 cups of raisins covered with water. Set aside to cool (do not throw away water.)

Mix:

3/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup shortening

1 egg

1 tsp. cinnamon

1 1 /2 cups flour

1 tsp. soda

1/2 tsp. salt

1 tsp. nutmeg

Add cooked cooled raisins and 1/2 cup raisin water. Turn into cake pan. Bake at 350* oven about 45 minutes. It usually takes longer than this. Very moist cake. Keeps fresh for a long time.
