Hawaiian Hamburgers

1 1/2 lbs. lean ground beef

1/2 cup chopped onion

2/3 cup cracker crumbs

1 tsp. salt

2/3 cup canned milk (undiluted)

 

Mix well – form into 6 four inch patties or 8 three inch patties. Brown in skillet in small amount of fat.

Sauce:

1 15oz. can drained pineapple chunks – save syrup, adding water to make 1 cup

2 Tbsp. cornstarch

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup vinegar

2 Tbsp. soy sauce

Mix water and syrup with cornstarch until well blended. Add the remaining ingredients to water mixture, heating until thick. Pour over burgers in skillet and simmer on low heat.
