Mix these before retiring at night. In the morning, put into pans. Let rise and bake. It’s all done before dinner!
1 pkg. dry yeast
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 cup warm water
let rise for about 10 minutes, then add:
2 cups warm water
1/2 cup sugar
1 Tbsp. salt
1/2 cup lard
4 well beaten eggs
flour (about 8 cups) to make soft dough
Grease well and cover when shaped dough is made; let rise a full 2 hours. Then bake 15-20 minutes at 350-375*
Variation: add 1 more egg and possibly more flour for doughnuts.

The contributer of this recipe does not give much direction as to what is to be “greased” and the shaping of the dough. I am certain that the pans are to be greased, the dough shaped into small balls, and then allowed to rise for 2 hours. Hope that helps.
