Icebox Rolls

2 pkg. yeast or 2 Spoons

1 tsp. sugar

1/2 cup lukewarm water

Let rise and stir

ADD:

2/3 cup shortening or oil

2/3 cup sugar

1 tsp. salt

1 cup warm mashed potatoes

2 eggs – beaten

1 cup scalded and cooled milk

6 cups flour

 

add shortening or oil, sugar, salt and potatoes to cooled milk – then add yeast and well beaten eggs and flour alternately to make a semi stiff dough. turn out onto floured board and knead well. Put in large bowl in the refrigerator overnight. Shape into buns and let rise in warm place. Bake around 325 – 350* to begin.
