1/2 cup lukewarm water in bowl
1 tsp. sugar
1 pkg. yeast
Mix together and let stand for 10 min.
1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup margarine
Scald together and cool
Combine all ingredients and add 2 cups sifted white four; beat until smooth. Add 2 cups more of flour and knead until smooth. Let stand in warm place until doubled and roll out to 1/2″ thickness and 8 ” wide. Cut into 1/2 ” strips by 8″
Cook in Mazola oil 1″ deep.
Glaze:
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup margarine
1/4 cup water
Simmer for 5 minutes – Put in double boiler to prevent sugaring. Apply with brush to doughnuts.
