In 1/2 cup of water put 1 tsp. sugar and 1 envelope of yeast. Let rise for 10 minutes.
In large bowl, mix:
1/2 cup Lard (shortening)
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tsp. Salt
2 Tbsp. vinegar
3 1/2 cup lukewarm water
add 8 – 10 cups of flour
Add first mixture to second. Add flour until the dough won’t stick to your hands. Let rise 2 hours. Knead into crabapple sized buns. Let rise for 3 hours.
