Biscuits Supreme

2 cups flour

4 tsp. baking powder

1 Tbsp. sugar

1/2 tsp. cream of tartar

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 cup shortening

2/3 cup milk

 

Stir thoroughly the first five ingredients. Cut in shortening til mixture resembles coarse crumbs; make a well in center and add milk all at once. Knead gently onto a lightly floured surface (1o-12 strokes). Roll to 1/2 inch thickness. Bake on an un-greased baking sheet at 450* for 10 – 12 minutes.
