Baking Powder Biscuits

Preheat oven to 450*

Sift together:

2 cups All Purpose Flour

4 tsp. Baking Powder

1 tsp. Salt

 

Cut in finely:

1/3 cup Shortening

 

Add:

3/4 cup plus 2 Tbsp. Milk

 

Stir to make a soft dough. Turn dough to a lightly floured surface and knead gently 8-10 times. Roll to desired thickness. Cut out with a floured cutter. Place in an ungreased baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes.

Yield – 18-20, 1 3/4 biscuits.
